Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) ensures a continuum of care for adolescent and adult patients who are transitioning from a higher level of inpatient care and/or a point of care for those needing more structure than what is offered in outpatient therapy . The Program provides regular, structured group therapy and programming throughout the week, while allowing clients the flexibility to resume their everyday activities, such as work or school.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers an entry point for care or step down from residential treatment. This adult program is offered five days a week and includes group therapy, individual therapy and supportive meals and snacks, all complemented by holistic and experiential therapies to foster lifelong recovery.

While every patient’s individualized treatment plan is unique, it will likely include one or more of these services:

Nutrition Programs: At the beginning of every patient’s treatment, our trained registered dietitians provide a comprehensive nutrition evaluation, along with customized meal plans based on the patient’s preferences and nutritional needs. We are conveniently located to support those in the surrounding Phoenix area, yet close enough to the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to accommodate patients and loved ones coming from out of state.

This 24-bed facility offers a high staff-to-patient ratio which allows for continual observation and 24-hour support and structure. Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes dietitians, psychiatrists, physicians and therapists, providing 24/7 nursing care, medical and psychiatric visits, therapeutic meals and snack exposures, as well as group, family and individual therapy.

The Mesa location is unique in that it is geared to patients who are in need of more nutritional rehabilitation and is able to accommodate NG tube feeding to support individuals in completing their meal plans. Fountain Hills resident Mia Elwood, founder and clinical director of Healthy Futures, has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Arizona branch of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

NASW presented Elwood with the honor during its annual awards ceremony March 31, which capped Social Work Month.

Healthy Futures, located in Fountain Hills, and also with a clinical location in Scottsdale, is an outpatient mental health clinic specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Only a few months ago, the company celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Its treatment specialty is an “Intensive Outpatient Program,” in which patients attend several times per week, engaging in group and individual therapy, healthy exercise and movement classes, meal experiences, and other activities to help them overcome their eating disorders.

“As a social worker, I believe it is important to identify leaders who positively impact the community and advance our field. Mia has dedicated her life to serving others for the past 25 years as an advocate for universal body acceptance, therapist, clinical supervisor and founder and director of Healthy Futures,” Varsha Prasad, a fellow social worker and team member at Healthy Futures said.
