Starting on Monday, September 18, 2023, this major customer service enhancement will incorporate business processes for Long Range Planning, Zoning and Historic Preservation into SHAPE PHX. The Historic Preservation Office (HPO) works to protect and enhance historic neighborhoods, buildings, and sites in Phoenix. HPO works closely with the Historic Preservation Commission to identify and designate eligible properties and districts for listing on the Phoenix Historic Property Register. Protection is provided to designated properties through city review and approval of exterior alterations to buildings and demolition requests. HPO also administers the Historic Preservation Bond fund that supports a number of financial assistance programs for historic properties.​

4worldlovers: The F.Q. Story Neighborhood Historic District is located in central Phoenix, Arizona. It runs from McDowell Road south to Roosevelt Street and from Seventh Avenue west to Grand Avenue. The neighborhood, as well as many of the individual houses, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
