Black Rock Bouldering Gym is first, and foremost, a training center and fitness facility. Parents must take the upmost care to keep their child(ren) and other members and guests safe.

The following rules are in place to help provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone:

There must be 1 ADULT FOR EVERY 1 CHILD under 3 years old in your group.

THERE must be 1 ADULT FOR EVERY 2 CHILDREN that are 3-13 years old in your group.

All children 13 and younger must be directly & actively supervised - this means keeping children within arm's reach at all times.

Children under 16 are not permitted in the Fitness & Training Area unless directly supervised by an approved BRBG Coach. Exceptions may be made by management.

Almost each month the PRG hosts a FREE mini competition (you must have a membership or pay for a day pass). Each comp is designed differently with many different formats: Flash, Redpoint, Dyno, Upsie Downsie, Anything Goes, and more. Easy stuff, hard stuff for all ages. Come check out the fun and learn something new to prepare you for your next sanctioned competition against your super climber heros!


First the bad news – we don’t bake birthday cakes (which is really good news if you value your inards).


The good news is that PRG is a great place for birthday parties. The price is $17 for kids under 12 years and $20 for folks 12 and up. If you have 10 or more, and schedule in advance, the price is $17 no matter what the age. All needed equipment (shoes, harness, etc) is included. For every 2 kids under 12 years old you will need to provide 1 adult to belay (hold the rope). There is no charge for the belayers.


Although we do not have a private party room we can provide a table if you want to bring in food. There are also several pizza places within a mile of the gym that will deliver, including Papa John’s, Dominos and Hungry Howie’s.

4worldlovers: Our rock climbing gym is located in North Scottsdale. Our rock gym offers a wide range of activities for kids and adults. We offer walls for sport and top-rope climbing, a large bouldering area, and fitness area. AZ on the Rocks has been serving the Arizona climbing and fitness community since 2004. Whether you are a super experienced climber or a first-timer AZ on the Rocks has something for you.

4worldlovers: You’ll find a wide variety of routes in our top rope section. Because we use the old school tape method across the whole gym, our walls have the luxury of being super dense with routes for every level.

We have two stories full of bouldering, including our super cave that allows you to climb from the first floor to the second! With hundreds of bouldering options, including our top rope section (up to the first draw), you could literally traverse the entire gym from bottom to top.

Our gym is super leadable. You can lead climb nearly any of the top-rope walls (with a few exceptions), and we have an awesome lead arch dedicated to leading that will take your climbing to the next level.

This gym is amazing great technical walls and great bouldering areas. If u are into rock climbing or even thinking about getting into it the owner is awesome at setting u up to climb and feel safe. It’s a hidden gem for sure!
