Roadrunner Paving and Asphalt Maintenance started with humble roots and a desire to help. We weren’t always the large paving company we are today with a wide selection of high-quality tools and materials to handle any paving job. When Leon Slade and Elmo Chesley started the company in 1979, it was a small custom paving business.


Roadrunner Paving started by helping out others who needed paving work but who didn’t have the equipment to do it themselves. Some of our earliest projects included residential and arterial streets, parking lots and overlays.


When we started, we had access to only the larger paving equipment, such as a Blaw Knox paver. However, over the years, we have increased our capacity by adding different types of equipment. Once we purchased the Lee Boy 8500, we were able to take on smaller and tighter projects.

With time, Roadrunner Paving has evolved and grown to offer more services. Now, we have a full fleet of paving equipment and work with technicians who are experienced in all types of paving work, including patching, removal of old pavement, and re-paving.

We are now able to handle jobs of all sizes for residential, commercial, municipal and industrial clients. Whether you need a new driveway for your home or a parking lot for your business, we can help you.

As we have grown, we have remained true to our roots. One of our founders, Leon Slade, retired in 2002, but his son, David, continues working with the company to this day. David Slade has been working with Roadrunner Paving since 1991, when he was only 18 years old. He learned the work from his father, and he learned the values that Roadrunner Paving represents.
