She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 2002 and her Master of Science degree in Food Chemistry in 2004. She then went on to the University of Illinois College of Medicine for medical school graduating in 2008. And in 2012, she completed her residency training in Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Michael is a board certified Physician Assistant with a passion for both general medicine and mental health. He completed his graduate training in Physician Assistant studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ in 2014. His interests include the interface between general medicine and psychiatry as well as interventional psychiatry. His areas of additional interest in mental health include mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, first-responders/veterans, substance use recovery, as well as adolescent and family dynamics.


When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, painting and photography. His family enjoys local phoenix activities such as the Phoenix zoo, hiking the various area parks, and bicycling, when the weather agrees!

Michael is a veteran of the armed services having served in both the Army and Air Force. As an active member of the Army he served as a combat medic in Colorado and South Korea. After leaving the Army he transitioned to the Air Force National Guard in Fargo, North Dakota where he was a fire fighter and EMT. Marc is a strong advocate for individualized, patient-centered care to help patients increase their quality of life. He believes in the importance of tailoring treatment to the individual rather than using a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Before moving to Arizona for graduate school, Marc completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin. While completing his undergraduate coursework in Wisconsin, Marc also worked as an EMT. Marc is also a veteran of the armed services with three years of active-duty service in the Army, including a one year deployment to Afghanistan. In 2006, Dr. Picus and Dr. Mansoor joined together and established a private outpatient practice, Psychiatric & Psychological Affiliates of Scottsdale, PLC, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Mansoor provides psychiatric evaluations and medication therapy, while Dr. Picus provides psychological evaluations and talk therapy. Together, the doctors provide comprehensive care to help patients better understand their symptoms and find more effective ways of creating healthy and satisfying paths to living. Treatment entails developing realistic goals with a solution focused quality but based on both clinical and practical findings.

In addition to treating various clinical syndromes, the duo treatment team co-facilitates the specialized family based treatment for adolescents and their families struggling with eating disorders. Dr. Picus and Dr. Mansoor have specialized training at Stanford University in Maudsley Method family-based treatment of eating disorders.
