In 1994, Bill was sitting at a hockey game in Arizona when the owner of a billiard company was sitting right behind him.

The man tapped him on the shoulder and asked if he wanted a job at a billiard store. The billiard store

Bill was excited to play pool every single day but little did he know. He wasn't going to play pool for a long time! 1 year later his best friend Jesse started working there. That's where the 2 future owners of State 48 billiard company met.

Not much longer after that Bill had his first kid and he knew that if he wanted to keep working with pool tables he needed to start his own company.

He started on his own and it took 30 days without a job for his first phone call to come in. From there he took off on his own.

Years later he and Jesse were on the phone and decided it was time to open the doors to their own store.

Taking yet another huge risk, Bill and Jesse successfully opened State 48 billiard company.

State 48 is a family-owned and operated store. All employees are family.

We needed to have a pool table moved from our old home in Glendale, to our new home in Peoria. When the pool table was being set up, Bill showed us our old table had damage on one of the legs and explained he could set it up, but it would cost us more for the repair than the pool table was worth (the table was 20 years old and a lower end model). He discounted the fee for us, even though he did not have to. He did not pressure us at all to buy a new table, he was simply stating facts. The pool table had been in our garage for years and the Arizona dry rot took effect. I asked about new pool tables and he mentioned they have them for sale (again no pressure). Onew new pool table and a table top video game later, we are very happy with the service. They came on time, answered any questions in a timely manner and overall did a great job! I highly recommend them!

Bill went out of his way to help answer our questions and not only was he quick to respond, he had us scheduled and taken care of in a few days. His prices were unbeatable.
