AZ fishing 101 is a fishing guide service focused on teaching bass fishing on Arizona lakes and waterways. Trips will focus on having fun and teaching fishing skills that will work on any lake or stream. With over 30 years' experience fishing Arizona lakes and streams, my focus is to show how fishing is a great way to experience the outdoors in Arizona.

Guided fishing trips to lakes around the Phoenix area include 4hr, 6hr and 8hr trips. Lakes include Bartlett, Pleasant, Canyon, Saguaro, Alamo and Roosevelt Lake. All equipment will be provided and there will be drinks and snacks as well. Be sure to wear sunscreen and wear clothing to protect yourself from the sun. Drinks and snacks will be provided on your trip.

All equipment including rods, reels and baits will be set and ready before you arrive. This lush area is outstanding for bird watching. Adjacent to the lower portion of the Salt River, a stand of mesquite provides welcome shade. Coon Bluff is a popular river-access point (RAP) for tubers floating the Lower Salt River. It’s close proximity to the main cities allows for an easy escape and fun day-trip.

Day Use - year round. Overnight camping is allowed October 1 thru March 31 on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday nights before the following holidays: Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday (observed), and Presidents Day (observed). Overnight use will also be allowed on Thanksgiving Day through Saturday night.

Quiet hours 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (running generators are not permitted during quiet hours).

This site is 17 miles northeast of Mesa. From Mesa, travel 7 miles east on Superstition Freeway (US 60), to Power Road/Bush Highway/Forest Road (FR) 204 and turn north. Follow Bush Highway for 12 miles and turn north (left) on FR 204E and follow it one mile to the site. The entire route is paved.

Caution: fallen trees and other materials in the river can trap swimmers and floaters
