Danny has been in the fitness and nutrition field for 20 years. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Nutritional Sciences then spent a few years studying, teaching, and researching metabolism and physiology. He then went on to become a personal trainer to put his knowledge to use. Danny specializes in coaching the sport of powerlifting, corrective exercise, and kettlebell training.

Tucson Strength started in the summer 2010 in a small community park under the name Evolution Fitness. I had a handful of kettlebells and 5 ladies that wanted to get in better shape. I had just quit my job managing a gym chain and was frustrated with what was happening in the fitness industry. Mindless high intensity exercise with little to no instruction seemed to be the trend. I knew I had a better way to train people an a passion to build a community of people that believed strength has a greater purpose.

Tucson Strength is by far the best gym in town for serious lifting and personal training. Great community vibe full of positive people supporting one another to improve their strength, fitness, and health. If you can get a session with one of their personal trainers, I cannot recommend it enough.

Expensive and worth it. The community is hardworking and into their workouts, often times you can feel the intensity of the gym and it really gets you ready to work out. It's not a big gym but has all the important machines and if you're comfortable around weights this place will work great for you. Also has a smaller outside gym which in the summer is rough but is completely kitted with equipment. So far really happy with my sessions here.

Preliminary schedule will be 1st session weigh-in at 8-9am lift at 10am. 2nd session weigh-in at 10:15-11:15am lift at 12:15pm. 3rd session (if needed) weigh-in at 12:30-1:30pm lift at 2:30pm.

Coaching is not only my profession, it is my passion. I’ve been assisting athletes with their strength training and health goals, full-time, for the past 10 years. Prior to opening GTX I coached on and off for the previous 15 years. I’ve been a smoker, I’ve been overweight, I’ve also competed at the State, National and International level in multiple sports. “I started my yoga practice in 2008 as a way to counteract tightness in my body from climbing and running. After experiencing my first class, I was hooked. I began attending yoga classes every chance I had. My favorite forms of yoga were Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga.

In 2013, I became a certified yoga teacher at CorePower Yoga in Bounder, Colorado, and immediately began teaching Vinyasa Flow at a local Crossfit gym.

After moving to Tucson, I embarked on a new form of yoga at a local Iyengar studio and have been practicing that style since. Yoga has been stabilizing for me throughout all of my career changes and outdoor hobbies. I always return to yoga for balance, grounding, and focus.”
